Uvod

Audi 80 Competition je omejena serija Audijev 80 B4 quattro, s katerimi so dirkali leta 1994 po Europi, Afriki in Australiji. Zaradi homologacije jih je 2500 končalo tudi na europskih cestah.


Introduction

The Audi 80 Competition is a limited edition Audi 80 quattro, which has been raced in 1994 across Europe, Afrika and Australia. Because of the homologation rules, 2500 examples ended on the roads across Europe.

Competition na cesti

Kot vulgaren opis tega avta bi lahko uporabili dan danes zelo pogost izraz S-line. Competition je veliko več kot to.

Za homologacijo tega avta v vseh tekmovanjih, je Audi v letu 1994 izdelal 2500 Audijev 80 Competition za redno prodajo. Imeli so motor 2.0 16v DOHC (šifra motorja ACE, njegev predhodnik je bil 6A), 103KW (140HP)pri 5200rpm, 182NM navora pri 4500rpm , z mehanskim Boschevim vbrizgom Ke-Jetronic:


The Competition on the road

We could call it with a today well known term, Audi 80 S-line, but the Competition is much more than that.

The racing homologation brings 2500 examples (all built in 1994) on the road. The engine is a 2.0 16v DOHC (engine code ACE, the succesor of the 6A) with 103KW (140HP) @ 5200rpm, 182NM of torqe @ 4500rpm wih the mechanical Bosch Ke-jetronic injection:

Zunanjost: Športni odbijači (enaki kot pri S2), stranska ogledala, ročice vrat in letvice na vratih v barvi vozila, aluminijast zadnji spojler, manjši quattro napis, el. strešno okno.

Exterior: Sport bumpers (same as on the S2), wing mirrors, door handles nad door trims painted in body colour, aluminium rear wing, smaller quattro badge, el. sunroof.


Notranjost: Šporni sedeži s quattro napisom, dodatni števci v sredinski konzoli, "Competition" napis na armaturni plošči.

Interior: Sport seats with quattro writing, aux gauges in the middle console, "Competition" badge on the dashboard.


Kot dodatno opremo se je dobilo tudi originalne dirkaške dodatke: podaljšek sprednjega odbijača, podstavke za zadnji spojler, podaljšek zadnjega spojlerja.

There were also the genuine racing bits available: front bumper lip, rear wing brackets, rear wing lip.


Competition na dirkališču

Zgodba o tem avtomobilu se prične leta 1992, takoj potem ko je Audi izstopil iz DTM-a (kjer so dirkali z V8). V Franciji in Italiji so dirkali v "touringwagen" prvenstvih z Audijem 80 quattro, z 2.0 16v motorjem (272hp) v letih 1992 (Frank Biela je postal francoski prvak) in 1993. To je predhodnik Competitiona.

The Competition on the racetrack

The story of this car begins in 1992, right after the retirement from the DTM (where Audi raced with the V8). An Audi 80 quattro 2.0 16v (272HP) raced in the French and Italian "touringwagen" championship in the 1992 (Frank Biela won the Franch championship) and 1993 seasons. This is the predecessor of the Competition.

Predstavitev voznikov

Audi se je leta 1994 pridružil tekmovanju STW (Super Tourenwagen Cup), katero so prirejali 5 sezon, torej do leta 1999, ko je bil štirikolesni pogon prepovedan.
Uradni vozniki leta 1994 so bili (od leve proti desni): Emanuele Pirro (ITA), Frank Biela (DE), Hans-Joachim Stuck (DE), Patrick Bernhardt (DE), Rinaldo Capello (ITA, ni na sliki).

The drivers

Audi joined the newli established STW (Super Tourenwagen Cup), which has been held for 5 seasons, till the 1999, when the all wheel drive has been banned.
The official drivers were (from left to right): Emanuele Pirro (ITA), Frank Biela (DE), Hans-Joachim Stuck (DE), Patrick Bernhardt (DE), Rinaldo Capello (ITA, not in the pic).

Na tej sliki se tudi vidi, kako so uspeli spustiti avto tako nizko. Šalce amortizerjev so potisnili na vrh prečne povezave med amortizerjema.

On this photo is also visible, how they menaged to lower the front of the car. The top mounts were moved on top of the strut brace bracket.


Audi 80 Competition se je po zunanjosti razlikoval po barvah in spojlerih, glede na tekmovanja in po ekipah v katerih je bil.

Platišča so BBS monoblok 19". Na tej sliki je viden podaljšek prednjega odbijača (pred napisom Audi quattro):
